Mr. László Trócsányi, Minister of Justice of Hungary, paid an official visit to Lebanon at the invitation of Mr. Jean Daoud Fahed, President of the Court of Cassation of Lebanon, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the court. The President of Lebanon awarded a National Order of the Cedar, Commander grade, to Minister Trócsányi at the anniversary celebration.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by Hungary to Lebanon. The Hungarian minister highlighted the church reconstruction project, as part of which 33 churches are being renovated, with a contribution of 463 million forints (EUR 1.4m) from the Hungarian government. The parties agreed that Hungary and Lebanon are among those countries that consider their identity important and want to preserve it in the future.

Minister Trócsányi also conducted talks with his Lebanese counterpart, Mr. Albert Serhan, Minister of Justice of Lebanon, and invited him to a conference on international justice to be held in Budapest.
