The official visit of Tamás Török, Deputy State Secretary to Lebanon

Tamás Török, Deputy State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians visited Lebanon on the 4th of July 2017 in order to sign the agreement on supporting the Syriac Catholic and Syriac Ortodox churches and to negotiate the implementation of the aid program.




The Hungarian Government decided to contribute € 1 - € 1 million to the humanitarian mission of the two churches after patriarchs III. Joseph Younan and II. Ephrem’s visit to Budapest in early 2007.


During his trip, Tamás Török met with Paul Karam, Chairman of the Caritas Lebanon, Rafael Koupaly, pastor of the Iraqi Chaldean refugees, and Naim Gharbi, the rector of the Melkita Seminar.
