Foreign nationals requesting entry to Hungary with a purpose of a long stay (exceeding 90 days) may submit a residence permit application. In case of successful application, the applicant will get a visa authorizing him/her to a single entry to Hungary, with a valid stay for up to 30 days maximum, in order to receive a residence permit. The decision on the residence permit falls within the competence of the regional directorates of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

According to the new regulation introduced as of 1st October 2024 until further notice, Embassies are no longer able to submit names to the General Security of Lebanon. Consequently, the previous assistance of the Embassy of Hungary will be discontinued and it will be solely the visa applicant’s responsibility to comply with the entry rules and border crossing procedures of Lebanon.
