Foreign nationals requesting entry to Hungary with a purpose of a long stay (exceeding 90 days) may submit a residence permit application. In case of successful application, the applicant will get a visa authorizing him/her to a single entry to Hungary, with a valid stay for up to 30 days maximum, in order to receive a residence permit. The decision on the residence permit falls within the competence of the regional directorates of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

Applications can only be presented in person and might be followed by a consular interview.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF VISA APPLICANTS WITH SYRIAN CITIZENSHIP AND SYRIAN TRAVEL DOCUMENT!

In order to facilitate the entry to Lebanon to attend the appointment at the Consular Section of Hungary in Beirut, names of appointment holders will be submitted to the General Security of Lebanon.

If any applicant wishes NOT to disclose their names with the Lebanese authorities, please clearly state that in an email sent to consulate.bej@mfa.gov.hu.

Please also note that no confirmation of appointment is provided to the applicant (except the email correspondence). Requests for such confirmation and enquiries about submitting applicant’s names to the Lebanese authorities will not be responded to.
