V4 reception

As Hungary holds the rotating Presidency of the Visegrad Group, the Embassy organized a reception together with an exhibition on the history of the V4 cooperation at the Phoenicia Hotel on May 11. The event was attended by our Lebanese partners and members of the diplomatic community. The material of the exhibition consisted of tableaus on the history of the V4 cooperation.

Commemoration of the Hungarian revolution of 1848

The Embassy of Hungary had a reception to commemorate the Hungarian revolution of 1848 in the building of the Sin El Fil municipality on 14 March, 2018. The event was attended by members of the Hungarian community in Lebanon and Lebanese graduates from Hungarian universities. The reception was attended by Mr Adnan Kassar, President of Fransabank and Mr Adel Kassar, Honorary Consul of Hungary.

Visit at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik

On the 9th February 2018, Ambassador Géza Mihályi and Károly Benes first secretary visited the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik and met Professor Georges W. Hobeika, President of the University, and Deputy President for International Affairs and Global Initiatives, Dr. Rima Mattar. During the visit, the possibility of cooperation between the University of Kaslik and Hungarian universities was discussed.

Lebanese delegation visited the Ministry of Agriculture in Budapest

A Lebanese delegation lead by Louis Lahoud, State Secretary of the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, had official talks between 4 and 8 December, 2017 at the Ministry of Agriculture in Budapest for the purpose of expanding agricultural trade relations. The parties agreed that the framework for future cooperation could be the formation of a Joint Committee and agreed on organizing a business forum in Lebanon in the near future.
